Uluwatu is different from the other tourist destinations in the Island of the Gods. First of all, it indeed has several beaches that are as attractive and beautiful as Kuta and Legian. However, these beaches are still relatively pristine as they were found only recently, of course by the surfers who by nature are keep on looking for more fresh venue to practice their art. But in such newly opened areas, now we already could see scores of Bali villas around the beaches. Even if you are not a beach lover, Uluwatu still offers attractive view and stay due to its location.
Let us imagine that you want to have a constant view of the blue ocean during your stay. There are not yet any elegant, luxurious Bali villas at the beaches, which are Bingin, Padang-padang, Suluban, Dreamland, and Balangan. The accommodations available at those beaches that also have a direct access to the water are usually of the lesser class. As you want an elegant stay, the available options are located high above. You have decided that you will stay at one of those luxury accommodations perched high on the cliff. And your selection is correct. Once you have arrived in your accommodation that you selected, you can see the Indian Ocean stretches far and wide at the west and the south. The blue, huge water stretches until you can only see the dim horizon. The large swell of white clouds are hanging on the sky, making you feel the greatness of nature. Such feeling is even more intensified when you enter the living room and other rooms in your accommodation.
Let us start from the bedroom. It is evening when you arrive at the accommodation. You feel sleepy and started to the bedroom. The blinds are opened so you can see the great Indian Ocean over there. You fall to sleep and spend the afternoon in slumber. When you wake up, the sun is on the far west. The sky is clean without a trace of a cloud in that direction. From what you have heard from your friend, there will be a daily sunset view on that direction. So you get up and start to prepare yourself for the wonder.
There is a dilemma, however, as you are faced with two options. Do you have to go down to the beach to enjoy the unique experience of watching the tropical sunset going down? Do you have to watch the wonder right from the comfort of your villa? But as you are going to stay for a few days in that place, you decided to taste the latter option. So, at around five o’clock, you are enjoying the golden sunset from a couch that has been set up to face to the west. It is different viewing the sunset from a height and from a beach.
