In recent years, Uluwatu has been growing as a popular destination in the Island of the Gods, may be because the density at Kuta and Legian has becoming more and more unbearable for some travelers. As always, it is the surfers that first found the possibilities of the area that is commonly referred to as the Bukit Peninsula. There are at least five beaches in Uluwatu that are fast in becoming new tourist destinations. They are Suluban, Bingin, Padang-padang, Balangan and Dreamland. Each of these beaches has its own characteristics but the common features are the Indian Ocean view, the white sand on the shore and the big waves and breakes.

Around the area of the beaches itself, there is not yet considerable place to stay. In fact, what is now available in those areas can still be considered accommodation for budget and mid-range travelers. Accommodation places of Bali luxury villas category are relatively still rare when you compared them to the livelier areas of Kuta, Legian and Seminyak. But from what have been available for now, you will find that it is rather difficult to choose between the options, even if you do not mind much about the budget.

Villa Latitude

Villa Latitude Bali, for example, has a building with five bedrooms in it and is strategically located at the cliff top. Such location provides the property with the unobstructed view of the roaring, wide Indian Ocean. Staff is complete, with driver, chef, security and maids. But this ideal accommodation has scores of other Uluwatu villas as its contenders. They also offer the Indian Ocean view as the main advantage and private access tothe beach that is closest to them. Take, for example, Villa Pemutih at Padang-padang, a property that has additional advantage with its dramatic infinity pool, set at the edge of the cliff.

Comparison betwen the staff of these two accommodations will result in derby as the latter also has professional staff. The rate is lower than the former at USD950, compared to the former’s USD13,500. Facilities are more spacious at Pemutih Villa. The living room is open and huge enough to accommodate a number of people. The property also comes with complete kitchen with modern utilities. In short, the latter offers greater feeling of a homeaway from home for the guests. As such, the enjoyment can be greater here especially when the guests come with the family or group of friends.

But those two are not the only Uluwatu villas. The other options incliude Villa Moonlight, Villa Karang Putih, The Istana, and Suluban Cliff Villa. All of them have the swimming pools and the great Indian Ocean view. Villa Moonlight is built further inland but still in the area of the Bukit Peninsula. Villa Karang Putih is remarkable as it has a helipad and private beach club as well as a sport center and a special wedding venue. Suluban Cliff Villa is special for its dramatically designed infinity pool while The Istana is the accommodation closest to the Uluwatu Temple.
